Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about decimal conversions, accuracy, and formulas.
01What is Hexadecimal (Base 16)?▼
Hexadecimal is a base-16 positional numeral system that uses 16 symbols: 0–9 to represent values zero to nine, and A–F (or a–f) to represent values ten to fifteen. It is widely used in computing because one byte (8 bits) can be represented by exactly two hexadecimal digits.
02How do you calculate hexadecimal from decimal?▼
Divide the decimal value by 16 repeatedly. Record each remainder as a hex digit (0-9 or A-F). Once the quotient reaches 0, the remainders read in reverse order give the complete hexadecimal number.
